Welcome to SSHTrigger! This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our Android application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
SSHTrigger is designed with privacy as a core principle. We want to make it absolutely clear what we DO NOT do:
No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information.
No SSH Credentials: Your SSH passwords, private keys, hostnames, and commands are NEVER transmitted to our servers or any third party.
No Usage Analytics: We do not track how you use the app, which commands you run, or when you use the app.
No Location Data: We do not access or collect your device location.
No Contact Access: We do not access your contacts, calendar, or other personal device data.
No Account Required: The app does not require you to create an account or sign in.
2. Data Storage
🔒 All Data Stays on Your Device
100% Local Storage: Everything you enter into SSHTrigger (SSH credentials, shortcuts, commands, keys, schedules, and execution logs) is stored exclusively on your Android device in the app's private storage directory.
Execution Logs: Command execution history, outputs, and timestamps
App Settings: Theme preferences and app configuration
Security Measures:
All data is stored in the app's private directory, which is protected by Android's app sandboxing
Other apps cannot access SSHTrigger's data without root access
Data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app
We recommend using SSH keys with passphrases for enhanced security
3. Third-Party Services
3.1 AdMob (Google)
SSHTrigger displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information to serve relevant ads:
Device information (device model, operating system version)
Ad interaction data (clicks, impressions)
Advertising ID (can be reset in your device settings)
General location (country/region level, not precise location)
Important: AdMob does NOT have access to your SSH credentials, commands, or any app-specific data. Ad data is collected and processed by Google according to their privacy policy.
The app uses Google Play Services for core Android functionality. Google may collect:
Device identifiers
App installation data
Crash reports (only if you opt-in to sharing usage data with Google)
3.3 No Other Third Parties
We do not integrate any other third-party services, analytics platforms, or tracking tools. Your SSH connections are direct between your device and your servers.
4. Permissions
SSHTrigger requires the following Android permissions to function:
Internet: Required to establish SSH connections to your servers
Network State: To check if internet connection is available before attempting SSH connections
Notifications: To display execution results and scheduled task notifications
Exact Alarms: To run scheduled tasks at precise times (Android 12+)
Wake Lock: To execute scheduled tasks even when device is sleeping
Boot Completed: To restore scheduled tasks after device restart
No other permissions are requested. We do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, storage, location, or any other sensitive device features.
5. Data Security
⚠️ Security Notice: While we implement standard security practices, please be aware that data stored on your device is only as secure as your device itself.
Our Security Measures:
SSH connections use industry-standard encryption protocols
Private keys are stored with restricted file permissions
No data transmission to external servers (except your SSH servers)
App follows Android security best practices
Your Responsibilities:
Keep your device locked with a PIN/password/biometric
Do not root your device (rooted devices have reduced security)
Use SSH keys instead of passwords when possible
Use passphrase-protected SSH keys for sensitive servers
Keep your Android OS updated
Only install the app from official Google Play Store
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Retention: All data remains on your device until you manually delete it or uninstall the app
Deletion: You can delete individual shortcuts, keys, schedules, and logs within the app
Complete Removal: Uninstalling the app completely removes all stored data from your device
No Recovery: Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered (we don't have backups because we don't collect data)
7. Children's Privacy
SSHTrigger is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us, please contact us, although note that we do not collect or store user information on our servers.
8. International Data Transfers
Since all data is stored locally on your device, there are no international data transfers by our app. The only data that leaves your device is:
SSH connections to servers you configure (controlled by you)
Ad requests to Google AdMob (handled by Google, see their privacy policy)
9. Your Rights
Because we do not collect or store your data on our servers, traditional data rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are already fully in your control:
Access: You have complete access to all data through the app interface
Modification: You can edit any information directly in the app
Deletion: You can delete any data within the app or uninstall the app
Portability: Your data is on your device and can be backed up using Android backup features
AdMob Advertising Controls:
You can control ad personalization through your device settings:
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
Reset Advertising ID: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. When we make changes:
The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised
Significant changes will be communicated through the app or app store listing
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
11. Open Source and Transparency
We believe in transparency. You can verify our privacy claims by:
Reviewing the app's required permissions in Google Play Store
Monitoring network traffic (you'll see only SSH connections to your servers and AdMob requests)
Checking Android's privacy dashboard (Android 12+) to see what data the app accesses
12. Compliance
This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with:
Google Play Developer Program Policies
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - EU
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) - USA
Other applicable privacy laws and regulations
